New Breed is a Hmong-American Rock/Pop band from Northern California. Formed in 2002, the former line-up consisted of Yeng Vang on lead vocals and guitar, Xai Vang ..boards and background vocal, Derek Vang on bass and background vocal, Jimmy Thao .. boards, and Ger Thao on drums.

By working very hard as a whole, New Breed released their debut album “Tsam No Mam Xav Txog” in the summer of 2004.
“Tsam No Mam Xav Txog” became an inst
ant success, topping that year as one of the best Hmong band albums in a long time. The band’s debut also spawned 3 Top Hits, including the 1 smash hit “Hnub No Mam Khuv Xim”. Even today, the song “Hnub No Mam Khuv Xim” is still loved by people of all ages. After the promotions of their first album, drummer Ger Thao left the band and the drumming position was carried on by former keyboardist Jimmy Thao.
The band went on to perform in small gigs as well as concerts
in Oroville, CA, Fresno, CA and Morganton, NC.
In the fall of 2005, Jimmy left the band for career endeavors, leaving Yeng, Xai and Derek to hold the band in place.
