ANNUAL HMONG NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN APRIL 2011
SAINT PAUL, Minnesota, February 1, 2011-
The 15th annual Hmong National Conference will be held on April 22-24, 2011 at the Marriott City Center Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This year’s theme, Uniting Hmong America: Invoking the Power Within, will engage and inspire participants with over 70 workshops, a leadership banquet, networking events, affinity sessions, arts and live
performances.
This year’s conference will also provide multiple opportunities for attendees to connect with federal officials and engage with prominent Hmong leaders from various sectors and regions.
Hmong National Development (HND) merged with Saint Paul-based social service agency, Hmong American Partnership ( HAP)
in 2010. The conference theme of Uniting Hmong America: Invoking the Power Within embraces the concept of and reflects upon a new model of partnership to further our work while maximizing strengths and opportunities. The partnership between HND and HAP embodies this concept.

At this stage in our resettlement and integration, it is a crucial time for the community to come
together and participate in a national dialogue.
The conference will provide an opportunity to not only discuss the current issues facing our communities but also to construct a blueprint for the next several decades, using models and best practices from around the country to enhance our work and progress,” said Bao Vang, President and CEO of HAP.
